We have developed a flexible approach to ensure that long term funding arrangements suit individual projects. In some cases, particularly smaller projects, bilateral lending is still appropriate, but for larger developments we are fully involved in raising project finance through consortia, in partnership with other banks and lenders either as lead or co-arranger.

Sectors in which we have already established a major presence and for which we have developed special funding products include local authorities, social housing, power, transport, education and health. In social housing we have been one of the top ten lenders over the last few years.
